Have you ever noticed the many different languages that you can change Facebook into depending on what language you speak and where you live? Have ever had a friend that used a different language to update his or her status, or comment on someone else's picture using a different language because they have the same ethnicity? I do it all the time. I know a lot of Latino people at Queens who write in Spanish all the time on Facebook. Sometimes I update status's or upload videos that are in Farsi to share with other friends that are also Persian. But I have realized that other people comment on them, asking what the video is about or what my status means. Also, I upload many persian songs and music videos and even my American friends like them. The video below is a Persian song by Erfan ( a Persian rapper) that I had posted a week ago on my wall. The song is called "Nakhastam" or "I never wanted..." its about a break up. I think the cultural mix on Facebook is pretty neat and out of curiosity people check it out and end up being interested.
Any similarities between Persian rap and American rap? Do you like the beat and music?
I love this!! I really like the beat. I think it's really interesting how different culture interact with each other through Facebook and other forms of social media. Persians and Greeks actually have alot of similarities!
ReplyDeleteLeah, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis song is awesome. I agree with you, Serena. I also sometimes upload the songs in my language and some of my American friends like these. They said they can listen these and they like these. I also sometimes like to listen some Chinese and Korean songs. I think music needs no language. Great blog. Well done.
